2001 Pontiac Sunfire - For 2001, the Sunfire is available in three models: SE coupe, SE sedan, and GT coupe. The Sunfire continues with minimal changes from last year. New exterior colors include Indigo Blue and Spruce Green. Standard safety features include four-wheel anti-lock brakes, daytime running lights, and a Trunk Entrapment Release, which allows the trunk to be opened from inside the trunk if someone is trapped inside. The SE models come with a standard 115-hp 2.2L engine, and a 150-hp 2.4L engine powers the GT models. Additional standard features for all models include height-adjustable seatbelts, air conditioning, and a theft deterrent system. To enhance comfort, Option Groups 1SB and 1SC are available.
