2002 Saturn SC - From its formation in the mid-80s as an autonomous subsidiary of General Motors, the Saturn brand has risen in popularity. Saturns SC coupe was redesigned for the first time in 1997. The Saturn sedan and wagon got a major makeover in 1996; the coupe adopted the sedan platform, and the new profile created a family resemblance with the rest of the Saturn line. Unlike the previous version, the SC1 and SC2 share all their body panels, with the side panels again being made from Saturns trademark ding-resistant polymer material. Starting with November 1998 production, all 1999 Saturn coupes were equipped with a feature not found on any other coupea third door.
